Baptism

Jesus commands his followers to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19). This is not a polite suggestion; it is a command from Jesus which he gives as his "last words" before his ascension into heaven!

Baptism is a public event for the whole family of God to celebrate! Baptism services are held at the following times on Sundays:

  • In the Chapel during the 8:30 am Traditional Service
  • In the Chapel following the 11:00 am Celebration Service
  • In the Worship Center during the 5:00 pm Celebration Service
  • In the Worship Center (quarterly) following the 11:00 am Celebration Service

Once a quarter, special full immersion baptisms are offered. If, however, getting baptized in a public setting is the only thing keeping you from being baptized, please contact Shannon Florer at 222-1520 or baptisms@hopewdm.org and special arrangements can be made.
