Happy Friday Hope!
We are a church on a mission! Thanks for being a part of it! The mission that God has placed before us is at the center of who we are as a church – to share the love of Jesus Christ!
This weekend we are finishing up our Back to School Drive. Our hope is that every student in the metro would have the proper supplies to start off the school year. In the past we filled backpacks. However, we heard from many students that the backpacks identified them in a way that wasn’t life-giving for them. Before you come to worship this weekend, stock up on some school supplies and you can drop them off on your way to worship. You can find the list here. We would also love your help Monday morning (Aug. 12) at 9:00 am to sort and box these donations! Simply meet at the New to Hope area!
We are also just a few weeks away from beginning construction on homes in the River Bend neighborhood. This past Lent you raised $800,000 to help construct new homes and repair other homes with our partner Habitat for Humanity. Step one of the project was to raise the money, and step two is to do the work! You can sign up to volunteer as an individual, family or life-group. There are opportunities for all people.
Last but not least, as with every week at Hope, we have a mission to reach out to the world around us and share the everlasting love of Jesus Christ. Weekly worship is a primary way to invite people to hear the Good News of Jesus. This weekend we are continuing our journey through the Book of Isaiah. Through Isaiah, God gave a glimpse of a glorious future – the prophecy of the coming of Jesus Christ. That same hope is for us today and for all future generations. This weekend an amazing preaching team of Nick Brannen (Youth Pastor), Jamie Richards (REVIVE/Young Adult inister) and Danny Housholder (Hope Ames/College Minister) will preach Saturday at 5:00 pm and Sunday at 8:00, 9:15 & 11:00 and 5:00 pm, and Pastor Andy Hermanson will preach in The Chapel. It will be a great weekend of worship! Come and join us.
Thanks for being a church on a mission, Hope!
P.S. Speaking of being on a mission, to continue to do whatever we can to reach people with the Gospel, we will be adding a new worship service to our weekly lineup. Starting on Sept. 11, we will have worship on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm. For some people, weekends just get tough, so we want to take every opportunity to provide options for worship. The Wednesday night service will be just like the weekend service – similar music and the same message from the weekend, but in The Chapel. There will also be HopeKids Wednesdays for families with children grades 1-5.
