Whiz Kidz

Through our partnership with Freedom for Youth Ministries, Whiz Kidz is a fun, interactive, holistic, and Christ-centered mentoring program for children in kindergarten – grade 5 from our local neighborhood who are in need of extra love and support because of family or financial circumstances. Volunteers work with children for two hours once a week by providing transportation, meals, play time, Bible time, and/or small groups, and tutoring.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • *Small Group Leaders: Work directly with the kids through games, crafts, music, and tutoring. (Commitment is every week)
  • Meal preparation and service: Prepare a meal for the kids, deliver, and serve. (Commitment is one time or more)
  • *Bus Drivers: CDL license required. Help pick up the kids from the Oakridge neighborhood. (Commitment 1-2 times per month)
  • *Bus Hosts: Ride on the bus to help greet and pick up children from their neighborhood. (Commitment is 1-2 times per month)
  • *Reading Buddies: Read with the kids for 15-30 minutes during the program (Commitment is 1-2 times per month).

*Application and background check required (see below)

Here’s how to get connected!
Volunteers serving in the small group leader, bus driver, bus host, or reading buddy roles are asked to complete the following application and background check found here.

If you have any further questions, or would like to volunteer to donate or serve a meal, e-mail info@hope-elim.org.
