Did you know that roughly 1 in 14 people face hunger in Iowa? And of that number 1 in 9 are children. Food insecurity is a fight that many of our neighbors face, but they don’t have to face it alone! Please join us in our annual Souper Bowl starting Monday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 12.
Federal health officials define an individual as food insecure when they do not have access to enough nutritious food for their overall health and well-being.
Here’s the game plan:
- Bring your nonperishable food items (you can tackle the suggested grocery list below for the most needed items) to Hope during the weekend of the Big Game, or with you when you come to Hope!
- Financial donations are also accepted in-person via check (noting "Souper Bowl Food Drive" in the memo field) or online here!
Please remember to check expiration dates on your donations as expired items cannot be donated to pantries. For safety reasons, please, no glass items.
