What is Mission Tijuana?
Mission Tijuana is a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) home-building project designed to work with local families who have taken the initial step of purchasing land but need assistance in building a structure that is adequate for their family.
What do we do?
The team will work alongside the family receiving a home, as well as YWAM staff, to start and complete the construction of an entire 16’ x 20’ house in 2 days. Once completed, the home is dedicated in prayer and is revealed to the family as they receive a Bible and the keys to their new home! The team will work hard during this time and have extensive interaction with local families and culture.
No construction experience is necessary.
How do we get there?
Trip participants will depart from Des Moines and fly into San Diego, California. Upon arrival, the team will be met by YWAM staff and will travel across the border to the San Antonio Del Mar Campus of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) located between Tijuana and Ensenada, Mexico.

Where do we stay?
The teams will stay in the safe and secure YWAM housing on their beautiful campus located near Tijuana, Mexico.
What travel documents do I need?
A current U.S. passport is required. Click here for more information on acquiring a passport.
What immunizations do I need?
Currently, there are no required vaccinations for travel into Mexico. For more info on recommended vaccinations click here.
What is the cost of the trip*?
Total cost of the March trip is $1,300** and the August trip is $995.
Passport and immunization fees are additional costs.
Please note that two months before departure, at least 50 percent of the trip total must be paid. One month prior to departure, trip total must be paid in full
* Cost subject to change based on airfare fluctuation
** For those ages 12 and under, the cost is $1,200 for March and $895 for August. This includes airfare, lodging and meals.
How do I sign up?

A $350 non-refundable deposit per person is due upon registration.
Once registered, background checks will be conducted by Hope on all mission trip applicants age 18 and older. This is to ensure the safety and protection of all mission team members and the people we serve.
