Originally from a small community in northern Iowa, Amanda has called West Des Moines home since 1999. It was a winding road that led Amanda to serve in ministry, but she admits it is because she is not always great at following instructions.
Amanda grew up attending Faith Baptist Church weekly with her family and gives all the credit to her parents and grandparents for providing the opportunity to learn about Jesus and for making faith a priority in her life. She did not always appreciate that gift, but God had bigger and better plans that began to be revealed when Amanda began attending Lutheran Church of Hope in 2001. In 2005, Amanda joined the staff as HopeKids Coordinator for age 3 – kindergarten and stayed involved in staff and volunteer roles as her family grew. Amanda served the Hope Des Moines campus from 2016-17 as Discipleship Director and now serves as the Women’s Ministry Director as well her pastoral role at Hope West Des Moines. Amanda received her M.Div from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul in 2017.
Amanda and her husband, Bryan, along with their children Camryn (Mears), Ava, Ashlynn and Joshua love the West Des Moines community and love being a part of the community of Hope!
