Prayer Labyrinth

Labyrinth walking is the practice for spiritual centering, contemplation, and prayer. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. Entering the path of a labyrinth, you walk slowly while quieting your mind and focusing on a spiritual question or prayer.

Two popular verses that can be used while praying the labyrinth are, "You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy." (Psalm 16:11) and Jesus' words, "I am the way, the truth and the life..." (John 14:16).

How to Use a Labyrinth

  1. Before entering. Consider a question, prayer, favorite scripture, or image to talk with God about.
  2. Invite God to walk with you.
  3. Walk the path. While walking, know that God is with you as you follow the path contemplating scripture, prayer, an image, or question.
  4. Upon reaching the center give God thanks. You may sit or stand if you like.
  5. Reflect. Benches are provided outside the labyrinth for continued meditation.
